Bullying by definition is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force him or her to do what one wants.  Other synonyms to describe bullying – persecute, oppress, harass, browbeat, torment, intimidate, strong-arm or dominate.  Those are very powerful words with negative impacts that can last a lifetime.  Sometimes bullying involves direct attacks such as name-calling, hitting, teasing or taunting.  Other times, it is indirect, such as spreading rumors or trying to make others reject someone.
